What I Brought on My Vacation to Tahoe

Now that I am back from Tahoe and DONE unpacking, I thought it would be fun to do a “what I took with me” type of post. Honestly, I think I did pretty good considering I was in Tahoe for six days and I only took my Away, The Bigger Carry-On, and my large Disney, Vera Bradely duffel bag as my suitcases, and then my Marc Jacobs tote as my “personal” item. I’m not going to lie – my duffel and my Marc Jacobs tote were packed to capacity, but I still managed to fit it all (even the stuff I bought when I returned!).

Here’s the breakdown of everything I took, divided in categories:

  • Toiletries – my toiletries were packed in a Kate Spade lunchbox I turned into a travel bag, for my makeup and/or toiletries…here’s what I took:
    • Shampoo & Conditioner – I bought some cute little travel bottles on Amazon for my trip to Disney last month and they worked out so well that I refilled them and packed them for this trip. For shampoo and conditioner, I took my Oribe Beautiful Color Shampoo and Conditioner.
    • Deodorant – I love MegaBabe deodorant. I’ve been using the Green Deo for a while now, but for this trip I actually bought and used the Geo Deo.
    • Toothbrush/Toothpaste
    • Razor
    • Wet Brush & Hair Comb
  • Skincare – knowning that I would be in a cold place, I definitely overpacked my skincare but I didn’t (and don’t care). I even made sure that my skincare bag stayed in my tote because I didn’t want to lose anything I packed LOL
    • Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes – these are my absolute favorite facial wipes, and had I known (which now I do) that they also sell them for makeup removal I would have added them to my bag as well! Regardless, they work so well and leave my skin hydrated and smooth.
    • OLEHENRIKSEN Strength Trainer Peptide Boost Moisturizer – honestly, if you follow me on Instagram you know I have totally fallen in love with this moisturizer from OLEHENRIKSEN. I didn’t even think twice about packing it, it was the first thing I threw in my bag.
    • OLEHENRIKSEN Let’s Get Luminous Set – I also wanted to try this OLEHENRIKSEN line, but I didn’t want to commit until I knew I liked it (which, DUH, I do) so I bought the mini set. I brought with me all three items: Truth Serum®, C-Rush™ Vitamin C Gel Moisturizer, and the Banana Bright Eye Crème. I definietly loved how they made my skin look and feel, so I am definitely going to buy them again when I run out (in the full sizes).
    • The INKEY List Caffeine Eye Cream – I brought this more for the bags under my eyes due to the timechange than anything else. I love this product, it’s deifnitely one of my favorite eye creams.
    • BYREDO Gypsy Water Eau de Parfum – my all time favorite perfume.
  • Makeup
  • “Fits”
    • Old Navy Gender Neutral Puffer Jacket – I got this, Frost-Free Water-Resistant Gender-Neutral Hooded Puffer, jacket for New York and I didn’t even hesitate to pack it for this trip. I’m obsessed with this puffer because it really is warm, it’s comfortable, and most of all it’s easy to throw on over sweats, cute outfits, etc.
    • I packed several two-piece loungewear sets to wear around and I’m so glad I did. I literally wore them every day we didn’t have something nice planned. For Valentine’s day I actually wore the Lou & Grey Heart Cozy Cotton Terry Sweatshirt/Sweatpants (from the Loft) I got for Christmas.
    • Alo Leggings – I also packed three pairs of my Alo Leggings so I could have to hang out with or layer while I was there.
    • J.Crew skinny jeans – I got these in at the Orlando outlets in November and they’re my go-to jeans when I travel.
    • Loft Curvy Fresh Cut High Rise Wide Leg Jeans
    • Loft Pocket Poncho Sweater – I bought this for New York and never got a chance to wear it, but I did in Tahoe! Such a great, easy to wear, item. I wasn’t too hot or too cold, and it was beyond comfortable.
    • Loft Lou & Grey Heart Sweater
    • Uniqlo +J Premium Lambswool Cable High-Neck Sweater
    • Thermals (all from Uniqlo) – by far, my absolute favorite thermals are from Uniqlo. I get the HeatTech Cotton turtlenecks (regular and extra warm), the HeatTech long-sleeved shirts, and the fleece-lined leggings. I bought them last year for Park City and loved them so much I added a few new ones this year.
    • Boots – I packed three pairs of boots to wear while I was there:
  • Etc.
    • Tervis – I brought with me my RunDisney Annual Passholder Tervis, which is a lifesafer. Since we have to go through security, I usually bring it empty and fill it once we’re in the airport. I did this for my flights to and from Tahoe and it really makes a difference. Plus, once I was already there I didn’t need to constantly buy bottles of water for my medicine or to drink, because my tervis was always around.
    • Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier – I brought with me several of the liquid IV packets in lemon lime and passion fruit. It’s the only way I know I’ll chug a bottle of water, so it helps to carry with me.
    • Prada Re-Edition 2005 Re-Nylon bag – I took this as my “purse” because it’s comfortable, sporty yet chic, and super versatile.

Honestly, I thought I took TOO much until I realized I didn’t leave the day I originally thought I was going to (OOPS lol). After I freaked out, I had to re-think a few outfits and I ended up having the exact amount of things I needed. The trip overall was fun, and for the first time ever I was very chill on a vacation (thanks to my elbow fracture of course). When my sisters were both skiing, my dad and I just hung out…when only one was skiing, my older sister made me leave the room (insert eye roll here).
