Currently…

I have been feeling so “behind” on life lately. Between the homework I have to do for the pre-Master’s program workshop, my work, my reading challenge, my half marathon training…just everything overall, I’m feeling like I’ve fallen into a slump. But this week is a new week, one I plan to rock.

That being said, my goals for the week are as follows:

  1. Do/Read all the homework that is expected of me
  2. Start to read an actual book, again, so I can catch up on my challenge
  3. Limit TV binging to a few hours a week, prioritizing homework and reading
  4. Lose 1-2 pounds this week, force myself to avoid cheating on my diet
  5. Actually do my expected marathon workouts during the week

With COVID cases rising again, I feel like I’ve all too easily allowed myself to fall back into the funk I was in during 2020…which is most definitely, not okay. So to avoid that, I am going to prioritize the above referenced goals and I’m going to make sure that I don’t burn myself out with work, on top of everything else I have to do outside work.

Yesterday, my Apple Watch shattered seven ways til Sunday so I had to go to the Apple Store for them to send the watch for replacement. Thank heavens for AppleCare. It’s worth every penny let me tell you. They are sending it back to Apple, for them to send me a brand new replacement, the entire thing takes about a week. It wasn’t until this morning, when I had been without a watch for 24 hours that I realized how dependent I was on my Apple Watch! I couldn’t track my half marathon training, since I didn’t have my watch, and then I couldn’t answer my texts or ping my phone when I lost it in my room, and worst of all, I couldn’t check the time! I’m not used to grabbing my phone just to check the time!! And of course, because that’s just how the cookie crumbles, none of my actual watches have a battery! So I literally have no watch for the time being. I contemplated buying one, just to have one on my wrist! Crazy right?

This weekend can pretty much be summed up with one word: errands. I spent most of yesterday doing errands all over miami, mostly returns from my online shopping excapades and then shopping with my little sister…Today, I did one return and then I took Minnie Monster for a bath and trim at Petsmart, followed by a Target run specifically for my back to school and back to work kits. What are those, you ask? Basically I stocked up on hand sanitizer, baby wipes (for the tush), Clorox anti-bacterial wipes, tide to go, etc to create “kits” for each of my bags. For reference, I have three bags: my purse, my work bag, and now my school bag. In my purse, I already had a bag for masks…but I also wanted to create some for the other two bags, better safe than sorry nowadays, so I created a mask kit as well. Each bag has its own mask kit and anti-bacterial kit. My purse and work bag have “tech kits” which are basically tech tools I’ll need (I.e. extended batteries, chargers, wireless mouse, dock, etc.). Once I put all that together, I organized my nightstand, putting meds together, extra cables together, and then throwing away crap that was unused and taking up space.

Since then, I’ve showered and started to vegetate. I will soon start to read my workshop articles, so tomorrow I can focus on reading the homework required for Tuesday’s first day of class!

How’s your week looking?
