Wow, where has time gone? I can’t believe it’s June. Why is it that 2021 (the year that things return to normal) is flying by, but 2020 seemed to last like ten years? I will never understand.

I have already finished one book in June, literally read it in a day, and I’m currently reading book two. I have book three and four lined up on my iPad and I’m renting another from the library which will bring my line up to book five. My goal is to read more than nine this month, since May was a failure and I read nine in April. That would put me extremely ahead of my reading challenge for 2021. Last year I read half the number of books I have set as my goal to read in 2021, but five more than where I’m at right now. If I can knock out nine books this month, I can increase my goal to 50 instead of 40.

Last weekend was Memorial Day weekend and I spent most of the weekend at home, floating in the pool and reading. It was fantastic not to actually do anything. This week, considering it’s a short week, has been relatively busy for me. I finally returned to the office! I went last Wednesday and this past Wednesday. I love being back at the office, especially now that it’s quiet, because I’m able to get so much stuff done – the peace and quiet really helps me focus and I end up knocking out everything I put on my to-do list.

June is a month full of birthday’s for me. My cousin’s birthday was yesterday, my mom’s is tomorrow (Saturday, the fifth), my best friend next Thursday and my other close friend next Saturday, my nephew is the following week. July is just as bad. We start with my aunt’s birthday, then my dad and god son, then my nephew and a friend, then my older sister…I’m sure I’m missing someone, but you get the idea. The summer is always a busy set of months for me with birthday’s. My poor credit card is going to hate me.

Diet-wise I’ve lost seven pounds. I am hoping to lose at least two more before I meet with the nutritionist in a few weeks. My goal is to lose 10-15 by the time my best friends little sister’s wedding comes around, on July 3rd. I still need to figure out what I’m going to wear. If I lose the ten pounds, I’ll most likely fit into my go to Wedding dress, but I was hoping I could find the dress I wore to my cousins wedding a few years ago instead. Switch it up a bit. Time will only tell what I end up wearing.

I don’t have anything planned where I can wear the Alexis for Target dress, but I’m itching to wear it. It’s this beautiful orange color maxi dress; it’s also extremely flattering. Maybe if we do something for Father’s Day, that doesn’t involve the pool, I can wear it. See dresses like these make me miss actually participating in events worth dressing up for!

I just discovered that my work gives me discounts on certain Apple products and now I’m tempted to buy a new case and Apple Watch band. I’m super into the Solo Loop band for my watch, but they came out with a cute new blue sports band that I wouldn’t mind rocking for the summer. Ahhh the endless possibilities that Apple products can give you! Monday is the WWDC2021 (if you haven’t noticed, I’m a huge Apple nerd).
