Trial and Error: Shampoo Edition
Since I decided to get back into the blogging world, and I am literally under house arrest unless it’s for essentials, I will be doing something I’ve never done before: testing out a new shampoo/condition and blogging about it. On Saturday, I ordered the new Ouai shampoo and conditioner for thick hair. Since you’re new around here, you probably wouldn’t know that I have extremely thick hair. I am exceedingly grateful for my beautiful, thick hair even when it drives me crazy and I totally take it for granted 90% of the time but in the last year I’ve really been trying to take care of it. I color my hair every 10-12 weeks to maintain my dirty blonde color. In this, there’s a lot of bleach and products that gets put on my hair plus I have finally grown it out to be extremely close to what my dream hair length has always been ( I say close because it’s not quite there, but it will be!).
Typically, I use DryBar shampoo. I absolutely love the DryBar products, I own almost every hair tool they sell and I’ve tried or used every one of their shampoos. Currently, I have the new Liquid Glass shampoo and conditioner in my shower, along with their charcoal shampoo (On the Rocks). This is not to say that I won’t continue to use their shampoo/products, because I most definitely will. But I wanted to try out the new Ouai shampoo that is made for hair like mine. As I was researching the shampoo, I learned that it typically takes 7-10 washes for you to really see a difference with the shampoo on your hair. Today was wash #1. For the next 14 days, I will be using only the Ouai shampoo and conditioner to see if I really see any change in my hair (both good and bad will be reported, regardless what happens). I genuinely want to try out this new product and share with you my experience with it.
Another Ouai product I decided to give a try is their Air Foam. My older sister swears by it and since I am basically stuck working from home for at least another three weeks, I figured why the hell not? Let’s try to minimize the amount of heat my hair has to deal with so that my highlights and color can also be extended (again, stuck at home for three weeks – gotta make everything last!). So that will be included in this new trial and error project!
Have you ever used Ouai products? Do you have a favorite? Let me know, I’m open to trying new things!
