Throwback Jams
I have been listening to songs from when I was growing up in the 90’s to songs I listened to in college; honestly it’s the weirdest mix of songs, but at the same time they’re the best of each of their own eras. I’m talking from NSYNC to Britney to Backstreet Boys to Jay Z & Kanye to Fall Out Boy to so much more. I constantly find myself singing along without even realizing it. Has that ever happened to you before?
My preferred method of music is Apple Music, but I also have several playlists dedicated to throwbacks on my Spotify account. I really only listen to those if I am tired of my Apple Music playlists though. Also, when I’m listening to Sirius XM I’m all about the Pop 2K station. What can I say, I love throwbacks!
It’s funny because my little sister walked in today and asked me what was with the concert going on in my room. I have my throwback playlists playing on my HomePod; but when she got out of the shower, she was singing verbatim the lyrics to the song. When she stopped, she looked at me and goes why are there no good songs like these anymore. Which made me think…technically, yes there are some bangers right now (I.e. Justin Bieber Peaches) but they aren’t like the songs on Jay-Z and Kanye’s Watch the Throne or like the songs that NSYNC and Backstreet Boys put out in the early 90’s. You can’t even compare the songs Usher, Ludacris, and Lil Jon put out to what artists are making now.
