Reading Challenge: What I Read in May
I read a total of six books in the month of May, which is pretty productive in my opinion! For the most part I stuck to romance titles, which typically causes me to have a reading slump, but I seemed to overcome that (yay). Here is a list of what I read in May and a sneak peak of what I hope to read in June.
May Reads
Funny Story by Emily Henry – 4 STARS. I am a HUGE Emily Henry fan, so I was extremely excited to read this book. It’s not my favorite of her books, but I really enjoyed it.
Must Love Books by Shauna Robinson – 4 STARS. I thought that this book was a cute, short read. Reading it after Funny Story was perfect, because I was able to keep my reading juices going. I truly enjoyed it.
The Love Wager by Lynn Painter – FIVE STARS (disclaimer: this is technically the second book, after Mr. Wrong Number, which I did not know…it can be read as a standalone, but characters from the first book are present in this story). This was such a cute read. I’ll probably read Mr. Wrong Number at some point, but I’m not in a rush to. This was not dependent on that story, so I’m thankful.
Set on You by Amy Lea (The Influencer #1) – 4 STARS. This is the first of the influencer series and I really enjoyed reading it. It became a binge for me as the story processed so I stayed up late to finish.
One of Those Flings by Lauren Blakely – 4.5 STARS. This audiobook was so cute. I love Lauren Blakely and this story did not disappoint. It’s also really quick, which helped me pass time at the doctor’s office.
Exes and O’s by Amy Lea (The Influencer #2) – 5 STARS. This was most definitely my favorite out of the two influencer series books I read. I’m excited to read the last book, I just checked it out from the library. But honestly, the banter in this book was great. I was cheering the characters on the entire time, and I could not put it down.
June TBR
My June TBR list is pretty ambitious I’m not going to lie, BUT it’s manageable because I’ll be spending the last week of June on a beach in my favorite place in the world (Siesta Key, FL). Usually when I’m there, I read anywhere from 4 to 8 books (depending on binge-ability). I can confirm I’ve already finished two of these books so let’s see if I can knock out the rest!
- This Summer Will be Different by Carley Fortune
- Grief is for People by Sloane Crosley
- The Paradise Problem by Christina Lauren
- The Catch by Amy Lea (The Influencer #3)*
- Josh & Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating*
- Summer at the Saint by Mary Kay Andrews
- Dixon Rule by Elle Kennedy**
- Summer Ever After**
- Girl Abroad by Elle Kennedy**
- Picking Daises on Sundays**
NOTE: * means I borrowed the book from the local library, so it’s priority due to rental periods; ** means this book is on my Kindle and/or rented via Kindle Unlimited so I have time to read them, but with the beach vacation this type of read trumps reading physical books.
Ambitious? Maybe…
I’m hopeful that I can get all these books done, especially with the beach vacation mixed in. Although, I hope to finish half before I even go to the beach. Don’t worry though, I have over 50 books on my Kindle that need to be read, so if I actually finish all the books I can keep going 😉
Stay tuned to see if I knock them out! You can see which other books I’ve read this year in this post: 2024 Reads…What I’ve Read this Year (So Far) and you can always follow along with my reading on Goodreads! I’m trying to get better about posting about my reading on TikTok and Instagram, but feel free to follow me there too!
