Quarantine & Me

Since most people are in quarantine, for their own and the safety of others, I thought it would be a fun idea to share some of the things I’m doing while practicing #SocialDistancing during quarantine.

Again, while remaining extremely honest, I am not going to sit here and tell you I have been completely isolated in the last eight days that we should have been completely isolated. Last Monday was the first day we officially started working from home, but on Wednesday I had a doctors appointment. And although going to the doctor during this time is fine, and acceptable, I could have opted to do a virtual appointment but I felt it was for my own sanity and health that I should leave the house to get fresh air. Thursday, while I remained home majority of the day, I did venture out to the pharmacy and Target to pick up a few things before heading home. Friday and Saturday, I did remain home. But Sunday, I walked to Target in the morning (5 miles round trip) to get fresh air and pick up some items that we were low in stock. Sunday night, I went to my parents house with my older sister and brother-in-law to have our “last” family night until the quarantine and social distancing is over. Today, which is Monday, I have not left the house and I do not intend to.

While, I am typically the type of person to choose to stay home rather than go out to a bar or party – I am most definitely not the type of person who can stay home every single hour of every single day. My weekends typically consist of running errands, shopping, getting my hair or nails done, or even going to a movie. That however is changing in light of the current state of the world. I am trying very hard to keep my family and friends healthy and free of this disastrous virus, and in order to be successful in this I can’t leave the house! So in order to prevent myself from going extremely crazy, here are some of the things I’m choosing to do!

  • Finish reading my current book: Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid (check out my Goodreads for more books on my list!)
  • Take some classes on MasterClass (currently taking Bob Iger’s class and it is so good! Granted I might be slightly biased considering I used to work at Disney)
  • Do some at home workouts with the Studio app
    • You do not need to have a treadmill to use this app!
  • Go for a run or long walk outside (can also use the Studio app for this!)
  • Watch my favorite TV shows (I.e. Law & Order, Criminal Minds, Friends – all reruns of course!)
    • Catch up on current episodes of The Bold Type on FreeForm and watch the most recent (and final season *tear, tear*) of Criminal Minds
  • Reorganize my loft (although this has already happened a few times, I am always looking to change things up and organize some more things in my room!)
  • Learn how to correctly do my makeup by watching YouTube and IGTV tutorials
  • DIY/Pinterest activities
  • Blog/Journal
  • Watch tutorials on different hair styles I can try on myself while at home (also YouTube and IGTV specific – some of my favorites are The DryBar and Jen Atkins!)

Is there anything you will be doing that I didn’t mention above? I’m always up for new ideas, especially considering this Work from Home situation was extended an additional two weeks (and potentially going to be extended again!) I’m more than willing to get try new things, let me know what ideas you have about things I could do while stuck at home!

Personal Note – Absolutely NONE of these are sponsored by anyone! These are solely based on my personal preference and opinion. I am not paid to promote any of these brands or companies.
