New Year, New Blog Posts!

Happy New Year everybody!

I am about ten days late with this post, but 2024 has been relatively hectic! I started the New Year working in my new rotation for the Digital Immersion Program, which is with Marketing. I drove to Disney last weekend for the WDW Marathon weekend where I was going to do the Half Marathon. Unfortunately, that turned out to be more like a half of a half due to weather. Now I’m packed and ready to go to Los Angeles for the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend. This will be the first #CoastToCoast RunDisney has done in six + years. I am participating in the Dumbo Double Dare which is the 10K and Half Marathon at Disneyland. My aunt and my mom are crashing my trip, since they’ve never been to Disneyland. Then on the weekend we’ll explore LA since my aunt has never been there before. I have a full itinerary planned and I’m very excited.

On the reading front, I am proud to say I’ve completed two audiobooks already this year and I’m starting my first kindle book tomorrow on the flight. I have like 10 books downloaded should I finish, and there’s one more audiobook in the series I started that I want to start. Last year I was successful in completing my Goodreads challenge, so this year I bumped it up a few more books and have a goal of 85 books. I know I can do it; I just need to get myself to NOT HAVE FUNK since those typically become the delay in my reading productivity. I also am thinking of utilizing my TikTok and Instagram account more to start documenting the books I’m reading…maybe create a bookstagram? I’m not sure. I’m still thinking it out.

I also was able to successfully complete my “Picture-a-day Challenge” in 2023 (this is something I started in 2022). To be honest, I was actually super surprised that I did not have to add multiple pictures from a specific day to cover the fact I had forgotten a day, like I did in 2022, because I was super on top of it. Hopefully, I can do the same, in 2024 and make this an annual thing. I really enjoy being able to go back to see what I did on whatever day in the year. It’s a happy reminder.

Every year I say the same thing, which is that I want to be more consistent in my blogging, and I end up failing…however, with the potential expansion into bookstagram/booktok, I think this year will be the year that I can remain consistent in that goal. Of course, I’ll have to do a HUGE Amazon post on everything I’ve purchased since August because I clearly missed doing that for several months but I am going to warn you in advance – it will be massive, bigger than huge, because in the months of November December alone I bought SO MUCH that I had a panic attack looking over my orders LOL This is not to say I regretted it, because I didn’t….but it was an issue. I needed to remind myself that I haven’t won the lotto and I need to cool it a bit.

That is all I have to share at the moment, but there will be more to come!
