My New Year Goals for 2024

I typically can never accomplish the “resolutions” I set for myself when new years comes around, but this year I’m going to really truly try to get these goals accomplished. Last year I set out to take a picture a day and read 80 books, which I did. I also made it a point to start to lose weight, which I’ve also done. So, for this year, I wanted to add some more goals and see what I can accomplish (hopefully all of them). Here are the goals I’ve chosen for 2024.

My New Year Goals

  1. Drink more water
    • This is a huge one for me. I wouldn’t say I drink enough water, but at least I try to drink SOME water. However, this year I want to prioritize drinking more water (even if I have to start carrying an emotional support water bottle/jug).
  2. Try Pilates
    • My masseuse has been telling me that I need to try Pilates and since I want to keep my weight loss off, I need to figure out a workout that I will like and/or enjoy. My little sister loves Pilates and I’ve seen a lot of people on TikTok who are loving it, so it’s motivated me to try more. I found a Groupon to a place close by, but I’m hesitant to buy the package when I’ve never tried it before.
  3. Always put clothes away and/or unpack within 48 hours of returning from trip(s)
    • I am absolutely HORRIBLE at unpacking and/or putting clothes away after doing laundry. It will sit on the couch for a week before I get around to it, so I want to prioritize this in 2024 so I can get better at decluttering and putting clothes away. This leads me into the next goal, which is to declutter.
  4. Declutter
    • As I’ve mentioned above, I want to declutter my life a little more. I am pretty organized; however, I also can be a chaotic mess at the same time. Like my couch will be clean for a week and then nonexistent for the next four weeks. Let’s not even discuss my desk at home. It has been haunting me for months and I still haven’t gotten around to organizing it.
  5. Read 85 or more books!
    • Last year I read 82 books, so my goal for 2024 is to read 85 or more books. I’ve also been trying to incorporate more audiobooks to change up the scene and prevent a reading funk.
  6. Say yes to life more!
    • I got this from Claudia from Girl with No Job. Margo and Claudia did an Amazon live where they recapped what Claudia’s 2023 goal was and she said it was to “say yes to life more” and I was very intrigued. She didn’t go into too much detail, but she did talk about how she went out more and expanded her social calendar in 2023 because she was saying to life more. I definitely want to try this in 2024. I’m absolutely a homebody, but I need to force myself to get out more as well.

I’ve been pretty good already at starting some of these, but I’ve also been crazy busy with traveling and work so I’m going to push myself to kick off officially in February.
