I have officially completed the first mini “eight week” session of the fall semester, with my second one starting next week! I’ve been saying that the second session is going to be easier, because one is fully online and the other is in person, but I’m not so sure! After reading the syllabus for the online class, I’m a little worried…but I will prevail, I always do! Yesterday was our final presentation and class for the Intro to Fundamentals of IB and tomorrow is my last class for Megatrends and Geopolitics. My final paper has been turned in, and I just have to worry about the final exam tomorrow. What is the best part?
This weekend is the “Jonas Brothers: The Remember This Tour”! I’ve been waiting for this concert since last year. It’ll be the first concert post-COVID, and a celebration of having completed the first half of the semester for my second Master’s program. The last concert I went to before COVID hit was the Jonas Brothers: Happiness Begins Tour. My cousin will have been my date for both, since she’s coming with me on Sunday! I’m excited, and looking for it to be a do-over from 2019. We’re going to pretend 2020 never happened, now that the world is gettng back to pre-COVID “normalcy”.
I am also mid-planning my birthday in Disney, which is also the Wine and Dine half, and then New York City for Enzo’s eighth birthday! I can’t believe it’s been eight years. Feels like just yesterday I was pregnant with Enzo.
In preparation for the Wine and Dine, and the Halloween half at the end of the month, I’ve been running with the Footworks running group on Saturday’s. Last weekend, I physically ran for the first time, in a long time, while training for the half marathons (I’ve been walking the long walks I’ve done, instead of actually running to get myself back in a place where I could actually run). I was so proud at how well I did. I just hope that I can keep it up as I get closer to the actual races. It is one thing to do well on a 3, 4, or 5 mile run and another to do it for a full 13 miles, but I am staying positive and working towards my bigger goal of running 1:1 in the actual race. This weekend will be another test; if I can keep it up on the 5 mile run, I’ll be golden for the next two weekend runs in preparation for the Halloween half and then the Wine and Dine, first weekend in November.
The weather is changing in Miami, which is a first for me…it’s obviosuly still 100 degrees, but you can tell there is a slight breeze in the mornings and evenings. I haven’t felt this shift in the weather since I was in Orlando. I can’t wait to start wearing my hoodies and long sleeves again! I miss the semi-fall like weather that Orlando had!
