Currently…

Here we go, we are officially on week three of the “Currently” blog series! To kick off week three, I’m going to start with I’m currently...

Writing from…

My new MacBook Pro! After years of pining for a new laptop, since my MacBook Air is officially ten years old, I was able to put my marbles together and buy a brand new MacBook Pro (no credit, just gift cards and cash!). I’m actually really excited about it and I feel super proud of myself, sorry but totally tooting my own horn here! Anyway, I am also currently…

Reading…

Unfortunately I was not able to finish my book, The Jetsetters, but I hope to this weekend. I can tell you that I have lined up six books to read next (they are all currently sitting on my nightstand as a reminder that I need to get my shit together and finish reading this book!

Buying…

So on top of buying my new MacBook Pro, I have bought some “Friends” themed things from Urban Outfitters!

  1. I’ll Be There For You: Life according to Friends’ Rachel, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler, Ross & Monica By Emma Lewis – this fun read has a little bit of everything. I added it to my coffee table stack and I’m really excited to read and play around with it.
  2. Friends: The Television Series: Lessons on Life, Love, and Friendship By Shoshana Stopek – this is a microscopic, tiny, little book full of fun lessons learned from the show. It actually reminds me of my “Pooh-ism’s” book that sits on my coffee table! I am all for anything that could provide me with a “life lesson” or a quote that will stay with me forever, on a good or bad day.
  3. Generation Friends: An Inside Look at the Show That Defined a Television Era By Saul Austerlitz – this book was actually on backorder so it hasn’t been delivered yet, but it’ll be here this weekend. It’s definitely more about the actual show itself and how it defined an era (and still maintains it’s fandom) than life lessons or fun gags about the show and its characters.
  4. Friends Trivia Quiz Card Game – I have the Friends Cards Against Humanities, a different trivia card game, and a game centred around the episode of “The One with the Ball”. Now I’ve added this fun game to the mix. Family Night is going to go all night (when we can finally have family night again, of course!).
  5. Friends Trivia Coaster Set – adding another game to the mix, I bought this coaster one! It actually reminded me of this game I keep seeing all over social media about like table questions or something like that, where you and your family/significant other quiz each other about whatever the card says? IDK. I just thought it would be a fun game to add to the mix. I can’t wait to use it.

Still Needing…

I’ve mentioned before the summer months are loaded with birthday’s in my life; mostly my family and a few friends. My cousin and mom’s birthday were last week, my baby daddy’s birthday was yesterday (he really hates when I call him that, but it’s technically the truth!). Two weeks from today would have been my grandmother’s birthday and then in July we’ve got my aunt, dad, and older sister plus my godson and my nephew (whose baby brother will be here next week!). I’m telling you the summer is loaded. My best friend’s birthday rounds up the summer in early August. So back to what this means…I am currently still needing to buy birthday presents! I have my aunt already, but no one else that’s in July. I don’t even know what to get them to be honest.

I am also still needing a rug for my bathroom vanity! It has been so much harder than I expected to find something that matches the rug and shower curtain I already have. I wanted another cheeky mat like the Urban Outfitters winky eye one I’ve had for the last two years, but the color doesn’t match the bathroom mat I have in front of the shower.

Learning…

I am actually currently learning how to use this new MacBook Pro. Let me tell you, I am usually a very quick study. I can figure pretty much anything out relatively quickly, but this new MacBook and it’s Touch Bar (I think that’s what it’s called) is actually kinda hard to get used to! I need to google how to change the shortcuts, and then I have to train myself to remember to use them. I feel like I sound like such an old lady, but it’s true! I need help!

Waiting for…

I am still waiting on those two tie dye shirts I ordered three months ago; I’m actually getting annoyed that they’re a week late. But I’m giving the sellers a chance for them to come this weekend (since COVID delayed a lot of things, I don’t want to be mean). I’m also waiting on two orders from SheIn. You’ll learn relatively quickly how much I love SheIn. I am obsessed with buying shoes and accessories from them. I also have a bunch of super cute dresses and shirts for work. I got a package today full of hair accessories. I keep saying I’m going to get around to posting that post, but I keep ordering more that I feel like I can’t finish the post! Some of it’s already drafted, I just need to take the pictures and finish writing it out. I also secretly ordered online the same Gucci glasses I lost last year (potentially threw out accidentally); I added my reading prescription so I can use them as an alternative to my Longchamp ones. I use my new orange glasses for distance and my clear Gucci glasses from last year are the back up to those. I believe the glasses get here this weekend, or early next week.

Planning…

I am totally trying to plan a few trips. I really wanted to be able to go up to see my godson for his birthday at the end of July, but it’s not looking realistic with this COVID shit still running rampant around the US. We also want to go to Siesta Key, since the wedding we were planning on attending the week of Fourth of July has been postponed (also thanks to Covid), my aunt wanted to go to Siesta Key/Sarasota. We go every single year, I was going to miss because of the wedding. My sister has to change her trip now because the resort they stay at has cancelled all reservations coming from Miami for that week.

Freaking Out About…

COVID and my half marathon! I know this sounds stupid, but with all this COVID crap going on and things being cancelled left and right, I’m scared that my birthday and Enzo’s birthday aren’t going to happen. For my birthday, we always go to Wine & Dine at Disney and this year, of course the one year the world goes to shit, I signed up for the half that weekend! It is the only Florida Disney half marathon I have’t done! But COVID decided to come and screw up the year, and now I think it’ll screw up that weekend and Enzo’s birthday. I spend every birthday of his out of Florida. I purposely try to get out of the state so I can attempt to celebrate him in a happy way. I was going to go to New York, last year we went to visit my best friend in DC. I haven’t been to New York in about three or four years so I was really looking forward to it and Enzo’s grandpa & grandma on his daddy’s side live over there. I haven’t seen them in probably four years, so I was really looking forward to it. Ugh COVID needs to go die already (total rant, sorry!).

Wishing…

I am wishing for COVID to go away, trips to happen, life to return to normalcy, and for me to be able to go back to work (the physical location). It truly is ironic how much you take for granted when you have it/do it daily. Things like driving to work, being in my office, going to the mall for lunch on Saturday’s or Sunday’s, going to the beach, to TJ Maxx, to the smallest of places – all taken for granted. I even took for granted driving up to Disney as much as I would! Although I do miss living there, I don’t miss working there so visiting every month or two was my way of remaining tied to Orlando as much as possibly. I wouldn’t change my work for the world, I truly love my job, but I do really miss Orlando and my friends there. I even miss walking through the parks for a mile in 90 degree heat to get to my office. Again, it’s the little things we end up missing!

Stay tuned to next week, I’m hoping some good music comes out this week so I can update my playlist. The releases last week were a little disappointing, but tomorrow is New Music Friday!
