Currently…

honestly forgot this week about the currently post. It was such a crazy and overwhelming, in both a good and bad way, week.

Let’s start with Sunday, Tina was here and the weather was absolutely horrific. We went to my moms for what was going to be a late lunch, ended up being a “linner” and we cut a cake for my birthday. Then Monday morning Tina flew out right before the torrential rain started. Tuesday was my actual birthday, and since I had taken the week off, I stayed home bored pretty much the entire day and then at night we went out to dinner at Cheesecake (super cheesy; but it’s my favorite). Wednesday I spontaneously decided to drive to Orlando for the day and I crashed at Tina’s house, leaving early Thursday morning before the torrential rain from the storm got to Orlando. At night I went to dinner with two of my best friends; and called it a night.

Now, Friday was a complete shit show. Again, but in a good and bad way. Granted, it was Friday the 13th in 2020. I should have expected said shit show. I started by waking up relatively “late” for my standards (AKA 10 AM) and proceeded to call AT&T’s across Miami looking for any that got the 12 Pro Max in. Of course, none had any – by then, they’d all sold out. Instead, I booked a blow out at the Drybar to end my week on a positive note. On my way to Drybar I realized there was an AT&T downtown, so i called and they had the phone. I got super excited contemplating skipping the blowout, but then I found out they had closed the location where I was and I wouldn’t make it before they sold out again. So I proceeded to get my hair done, and at the end my best friend and I tagged team calling some more AT&T’s. I had decided I was willing to drive 20 miles to get the phone if one of the stores had it in stock and that was when, we found one (and by we, I mean my best friend Carmen).

At this point, I proceeded to haul ass to get to that location because they were holding it for me for 20 minutes. I got there at the 20th minute and so the process began. What I didn’t realize was that where I parked turned into a tow away zone at a particular time, so after the two hours or so that it took me to do everything at the store my car got towed. If you know me, you know damn well that shit doesn’t happen to me. So I FLIPPED the FCKout.

After I got my car, I went to do two errands and went home. When I got home, I proceeded to finish the phone setup and upload my OS on my MacBook. When my uncle got there, and we were sitting at the table talking, I got an email from my work informing me that I had been awarded another “going the extra mile” or GEM award with a non-cash bonus. I freaked out to say the least. I was so shocked and emotional from the days events that I didn’t know what to think. I seriously was blown away.

Fast forward to today, Saturday; I’ve been all over Miami shopping and celebrating the weeks events. Regardless of how bad things felt, the week ended up being great. I still can’t get over the week and everything I went through. It feels like a chapter from one of our productions!

Here’s to another, new week!
