Places to Visit
These probably sound incredibly boring, but they’re on my list of places to visit (as soon as I possibly can).
- London – I spent four days in London during my study abroad trip in High School and I have been dying to go back ever since. I want to explore more and really get to tour the city. Art and architecture are things I love when I travel and London was full of both.
- Canada – I always joked that I would move to Canada if Trump won (seriously, don’t @ me. This is my opinion) I’ve never been and I’ve also always wanted to visit Toronto, Niagara Falls, Quebec, etc. Some of my favorite musicians are from Canada and NBC actually produces a bunch of our shows in Canada!
- Cuba – My aunt always said she wouldn’t return to Cuba until Castro died. Well, since travel has reopened to Cuba I have a lot of family and friends who have gone. I’m a US born citizen so for me it’s not as complicated as if my aunt, uncle, or parents wanted to go. My older sister went when she was 18 with her maternal grandmother and since then I’ve always wanted to go. Most of my family is from Sancti Spíritus and my dad’s side is from Fomento. I’ve also heard the beaches are absolutely stunning and nothing like I’ve seen before.
- New York – this is my happy place. I have two happy places, maybe three: New York, Siesta Key, and Disney (any Disney – West or East Coast)
- Chicago – My mom’s family still live in Chicago and my older sister went to Law School there; it’s not exactly a happy place, but it’s second to them.
- Vegas – I could go to Vegas tomorrow. I love Vegas. The shows, the gambling, the people, the environment. It’s such a different world when you’re in Vegas. I’d also like to go to some of the tourist spots I haven’t been to (I.e. Red Rock Canyon).
- California – Another place I love to visit. I’ve been to LA and Anaheim; I’d love to go to San Fran, San Diego, and drive up the Pacific Coast Highway.
- Spain – I studied in Salamanca for six weeks in High School, and I went to Madrid, Sanxenxo, Toldeo, and another town I can’t remember right now.
- Paris – I’ve been twice, but for the Disney half marathons and even though I’ve gone and toured the usual spots myself I haven’t done them all so I’d like to go back with no commitments and really see Paris the right way!
- Tokyo – I have always wanted to go to Japan. A friend of mine went a few years back and I was dying over her pictures.
- Shanghai – partially because Disney opened a new resort there, and partially because it’s China and I’ve always wanted to go to China…
- Boston – my best friend has lived here for like 8 years and I’ve never been. I kept saying I’d go this year, and then COVID cancelled all my travel plans….
I love to travel, but then we have our favorites that never get old…as you can see above. I would especially love to visit some of these places during certain times of the year, such as Fashion Week in New York, Paris, and London…or during Christmas time in any of them…or even during New Years! Just to see them in their elements during certain times of the year feels so inspiring.
