Trial and Error: An Update
When I first started this trial and error, I didn’t really know much about how testing a new product (specifically for the hair) worked. So after much research, I learned that in order to properly judge a shampoo/conditioner you had to use it for seven washes before seeing a real difference in your hair. Today made wash #4.
I can already tell you, I noticed my hair was a lot softer coming out of the shower. Even after taking my hair towel off, and running my fingers (not even my brush) through my hair was much easier than it ever has been. That’s not to say that the previous shampoo I was using isn’t amazing, because I absolutely think it is – they’re just different.
So before I started using this new Ouai shampoo/conditioner, I had been using the DryBar Liquid Glass and I absolutely love it. I actually miss it, but I am liking the softness the Ouai shampoo is bringing me. I am pretty much only half way through the trial and error period but so far so good. After this, I can almost certainly say that I will be alternating between the two shampoo/conditioners (DryBar and Ouai).
Typically my routine was one wash with the charcoal DryBar shampoo (On the Rocks) and the second wash with Liquid Glass, finishing with Liquid Glass conditioner. That would happen every other day. Since I think I will be incorporating the Ouai into the routine, I think I’ll be continuing the every other day but with the DryBar combination on one day and the Ouai on the other.
What I have noticed is that they both focus on two completely different things. Drybar is pretty much what the name entails, it leaves my hair looking like liquid glass but the Ouai is actually controlling my frizz factor a little more and softening the hair, even when wet. Considering I’m under “house arrest” for at least another six weeks (which means I can’t get the Brazilian Blowout) the frizz taming factor is a big win.
Let’s see how the last three washes go, I’ll definitely keep you informed on my final opinion once it’s all done!
