Sneaker Head
Hello, I’m KJ and I LOVE SNEAKERS!!
They can be for leisure, running, walking, training – doesn’t matter if I just wear them in my bedroom. If it’s a sneaker, and they’re cute – they’re mine.
It’s funny because this wasn’t the post I imagined I would be writing or posting today: I had actually planned some other content, but my cousin (who very recently relocated here from Boston) complimented my sneakers and I just felt inspired.
Call it fate.
Anyway, back to the content. I am going to round up my favorite pair of sneakers at the moment. It will include pairs you can wear to run, walk, jog, go to the gym, hang out at home (as I currently am), etc. They’re not meant for one specific outing or type of activity. *Disclaimer: I am not being paid to write this post, I just truly love sneakers and the ones I will be listing below. Some may not be available anymore so sorry in advanced!
- Nike React Infinity Run Flyknit Running Shoes ($190)
These were purchased for the half marathon I was supposed to be running next weekend at Disney World. Obviously, people’s health and safety is more important so they cancelled the race. Although I am extremely bitter about it, I also understand and appreciate that they refunded us and didn’t penalize anyone for the unplanned pandemic.
- APL – Women’s TechLoom Phantom ($165)
These sneakers I bought because I had seen them all over internet and Instagram, even on the Kardashian’s and I am a HUGE fan of bright sneakers. In order to justify buying these, I gave up my old running sneakers that I can honestly tell you – it was extremely overdue. To paint a better picture though, they were neon green (Tinkerbell) and the Donald themed ones were the same type of electric blue with orange and white. Here are pictures of me with both:
- Nike React Presto Barely Volt ($Unknown)
I call these shoes my Rugrat sneakers because they remind me of the Reptar that the Rugrats would run from. I used them a lot when I trained at the gym, and I wear them even more when I go park hopping at Disney. They’re really comfortable and the cushion support is fantastic, but I don’t like how they feel when I run so I ruled them out for those kinds of events.
- Yeezy ($220) – I’m sure these need no explanation, however I am completely obsessed with them. I wear them WAY too much, even for things that I shouldn’t wear them for so they’re most definitely worth the money spent. I have been trying to get another pair for over a year, but they go so fast and since I paid regular price for these I refuse to buy the ones that people sell at three times the price.
- Golden Goose (Range from $460 & up)
So these are not my typical sneaker. I am not one to spend an insane amount of money on sneakers’ and at first I didn’t like the concept of my sneakers coming dirty – but then my best friend bought me a pair and I’ve officially become a fan. Although I didn’t pay full price for them, which is mostly the reason I bought them, I did get a second pair of GG sneakers when I was visiting said best friend in December! Unfortunately, I have an insane amount of pictures of myself in these sneakers because they’re that comfortable and honestly they are that cute. I think what really hooked me was that they go with almost everything, even without trying! These were the shoe of choice when I was in Paris; I walked up and down the entire city in them which I did regret and loved at the same time (they weren’t uncomfortable, but they don’t have a lot of support for long distance sightseeing!).
Other sneakers you can find in my closet are the classic pair of Converse (white, although they’re so dirty one wouldn’t think they were actually white). I have two pair of Vans, white slip ons and Star Wars slip ons (do not judge me). I also have Winnie the Pooh sneakers, but I believe they are Keds not Vans. I believe the last time I counted I had over 20 pairs of sneakers, but I have since donated them to charities or the GoodWill since I needed to part ways with them. Maybe I’ll update the post with the correct count another day!
