Ready, Set, Magic: Must-Haves for a Perfect Disney Day

A few weeks ago, I took the Brightline train up to Orando to meet up with my best friend and godson for his sixth birthday. While I was there, I really took stock of what was in my bag and what I actually used while at the parks.

I am an absolute over packer, so this took a bit of trial and error, but I narrowed down the items that I absolutely need for a summer day in a Disney Park. All of these products can also be found on my TapTo.Shop page!

First and foremost, you have to have a cute Disney outfit for a park day. I love to dress up in my Disney-themed outfits, several of which I’ve sourced from Amazon, Target, SHEIN, American Eagle, and of course the Disney Store (online and at the parks).

Here are some of my more recent park ‘fits, in case you need some inspo:

The second to last one is a recent acquisition and the last one is in my shopping cart. I need to buy it before it sells out, because lately it’s all sold out!

Tried and True MUST HAVE Products for a Disney Day:

Cute “Park” bag(s):

I typically use one of my numerous Stoney Clover Lane bags since I have a bunch of their [Disney} fanny packs, both in the jumbo and regular size, as well as the flap backpack in a Mickey print. On long park days, aka any time I do rope drop to park close, using the backpack tends to be key. If it’s just a half day, or evening, at the park my fanny pack is perfect. I also have a cute Mickey-shaped crossbody from SCL that I used in Disneyland.

SCL, though, isn’t the only brand I wear (contrary to popular opinion). I also have an Lululemon fanny pack dupe from Amazon that I added some patches to myself, as well as a similar version of the Lulu fanny but with a Minnie Mouse strap and embellishment that I found at TJ Maxx. I also have a few Dooney and Burke Disney bags (a tote from DLR and a crossbody) and a Disney Coach camera bag from their last collection. These bags though are typically more for the days I go to Disney Springs, since they’re smaller and more compact.

Disney also has tons of Loungefly bags, which have so many character/theme options, and are super popular. These are sold in the park, alongside the newest Dooney and Burke collections and sometimes the Coach or Gucci stuff (both of these have pretty much sold out, but if they had overstock, they’d be found in the parks or at Springs).

Here are some cute bags, from a few different brands/places in a handful of price points, that you can consider for your next park day:

Sunglasses:

I love to bring different sunglasses with me when I travel, especially to Disney. My older sister actually brought me the Mickey-shaped sunglasses from Tokyo Disney when she was there this summer, and I am OBSESSED with them. Here are some cute sunglasses, from Amazon, that I’ve taken with me to the parks:

Mickey/Minnie ears and/or Disney hat:

For me, both of these are considered a high priority. There are days where I will wear my ears OVER my hat, just to avoid getting too much sun exposure on my skin. I tend to break out in hives when I am in the sun too long. I also use some of these for my RunDisney races:

Honestly, I love the ears and tend to buy a new pair every time I go to the parks. I’m actually usually very surprised if I don’t remember to buy a pair before I leave. I don’t think that’s ever happened. Let’s just say my friends LOVE to come borrow my accessories…ears included.

Anti-Heat Stroke Tools:

This is an absolute MUST HAVE if you’re going to the parks in Florida. It is hot roughly 85% of the year…you are lucky if you come in January/early February and the high is in the low 70’s (that really doesn’t happen often).

Electronic Devices:

I always have a gazillion gadgets. I am just like my mother in that sense. There probably isn’t a single gadget I haven’t purchased at one point in time, especially when it comes to things I’ll use at a Disney park. The first, of course, being battery savers. A must have for me at Disney is the FuelRod. You can charge them or swap them in the park for a freshly charged one, which is amazing. The trick is buying the first ones on Amazon (they’re cheaper) and then taking them with you. Along with the FuelRod, I’ll have at least two more charging options: an USB-C version and a MagSafe version.

Additionally, I try to theme my phone to Disney when I’m at the parks. There is nothing I love more than a cute iPhone case, and I have SO many, but the Disney ones are definitely the cutest. Most of them I find on Amazon, but I’ve also found a couple on SHEIN lately. I also make sure to bring with me a sticky grip or mini-tripod, and a selfie light…for selfies (duh).

Last, and definitely not least, is my latest addition: a Digital Camera! I bought two on TikTok shop, but I found this one on Amazon. The accessories are the same ones I ordered so you can rest assured that they’re good. I’ve been absolutely loving having a camera with me again. It’s so fun and the pictures come out so cute. I also bought an adapter so I can transfer them straight to my phone when I get home from the parks!

That is pretty much everything that I consider to be a must have for a day at the parks, however my best friend likes to bring her own drink tumbler. A lot of people bring their Stanely’s or Hydrojugs to the park and they have been adding refill stations throughout Disney property, I just personally hate to carry it around (I’m that lazy).

Okay, I cannot believe I actually forgot to include the most important thing! Honestly, none of my bags (especially my park bag) ever go a day without at least ONE of these items. Can you take a guess what it is? Here I’ll tell you:

  • Touchlamd Hand Sanitizer

I have SO many of these, several of which are Disney -themed (they did a Disney collection/collab, and I bought immediately), and I also got some from Sephora and Amazon. I’m obsessed with them and for the parks, they’re the perfect hand sanitizer. They smell delicious, are compact; and the designs vary on which you buy’ I mean COME ON.
