Reading Challenge: My July Reading Recap

July was not as successful as June, in terms of the number of books I read, but it was a relatively good month. Sadly, I did have some DNF’s and a few two stars, but overall it wasn’t the worst I’ve done.

I’m hoping August will be a better month, given that I kind of fell into a rut after July. Here is a recap of what I read in July.

July Reads

Girl Abroad by Elle Kennedy – 4 STARS. I love Elle Kennedy, but for some reason this book and I did not vibe as much as I thought we would. It wasn’t horrible, by any means, but it wasn’t the usual hook, line, and sinker I get when I read Elle’s books.
Prime Time Romance by Kate Robb – 2 STARS. I did a separate review on this book, here, but overall it was OK. I wanted to really love it, but I just could not get into it like that.
For Love or Music by Julie Lipson – 4 STARS. This was an audible book that I actually really enjoyed. I’ve been lucky to find a few audible originals that I truly enjoyed, this is one of them.
Algorithms by Sadie Clark – 2 STARS. Another audible book, but it was not my favorite. I found myself cringing a lot more than I anticipated. Sadly this was a DNF for me.
After the Fairy Tale by Terence Gray – 4 STARS. I really enjoyed this audible book as well. Sometimes I have a bunch of good picks, and other times I get a hit or miss. This was definitely a hit for me.

August is already starting off a little slow, given that it’s the fourth and I’ve only finished one book and I’m like 30 pages into my second but I’m not going to give up! Hopefully, I can finish some of the summer reads I have piled up and start a few of the ARCs that I have to critique. Here’s to hoping!
