Life Update…

Typically, this would be a “Currently” post but I just realized the last one I had written never posted and since it’s been over a month since my last post I figured why not just do an all around update.

First up: we are going to New York in about two and a half weeks for Enzo’s birthday, and I am so very excited! If you know me, you know that I love New York. I love it even more for Enzo’s birthday, especially since it’s one of the few places I feel most connected to him. You see, when I was pregnant with him, my best friend celebrated her bachlorette weekend in New York (planned by yours truly)! NYC has always had a special place in my heart, but that connection to Enzo makes it that much more special.

In preparation, I have been on a huge shopping binge buying up sweaters, cardigans, turtlenecks, boots, and now I’ve added a few puffer jackets and a teddy coat to try! Honestly, the shopping binge isn’t really new, it’s just the most focused on the NY trip. With my birthday having just passed, I used my birthday money to buy stuff and it’s mostly all arrived…Stay tuned for a post on what I’ll be packing for New York!

Next up, THANKSGIVING. Tomorrow is Turkey Day. It’s actually the only holiday during this time of the year that I actually enjoy. I’ve always loved Thanksigivng and having Turkey, but after Enzo it lost a bit of it’s spark for me. It still is my favorite, it’s just right smack in the middle of the worst time of the year for me. I bought a few dresses last week at a local boutique that I am contemplating wearing for Thanksgiving dinner, since we are going to have a Thanksgiving breakfast at my dad’s tomorrow morning and I’ll be wearing my new SKIMS Cozy Knit pants (which I am 1000% obsessed with).

Let’s talk about these pants for a minute…I will say, I was 100% skeptical about buying the pants let alone the bras and underwear…but now that I have, I am obsessed with the SKIMS bralettes and I am in love with the Cozy Knit pants. They are like a plush robe on your body at all times. I LOVE THEM. So much, I’ve added two more of each (pants and bralettes) to my Christmas list, and I’m adding the legging to try as well. I feel like I should not be surprised, I mean everything these people touch turns to gold but boy was I pleasantly surprised at how much I liked them!

OK, back to the point! After Thanksgiving breakfast, we will have Thanksgiving dinner with my cousins. After taking last year off due to COVID, they’re back and we are going to have dinner with them. Friday is Black Friday, which to my aunt, older sister, and I means early SHOPPING. 8 out of 10 times I knock out 75% of my Christmas shopping on Black Friday. This year I’ve gotten a head start, I’d say I’m about 25% through. I need to buy the immediate fam and my nephews their gifts.

I’ve been trying to work on a Christmas list for weeks now. I barely knew what I wanted for my birthday, Christmas is not much easier! Having the New York trip before Christmas doesn’t help either because what I would have added for that, I’d already have! When did Christmas get so hard?

I am in my final three week stretch for my second half of the first semester of the the MIB program. Pretty exciting, not going to lie. It has been hard, but the payoff is going to be so worth it.

And that’s my round up for today’s life update. See you soon 🙂
