Life-Date or is it a Life Update?
I wanted to call this “life-date” and then I realized that makes absolutely no sense, BUT it’s a post about what is going on in my life right now. Let’s start at the beginning…
I started reading “December” themed books a little bit over a week ago, and I have officially finished two. I’m about to start my third, and final “December” / “Holiday” themed book. I’ve enjoyed it so much that I think I’ll make it a tradition. This book will mark book number 41 for this 2021, unfortunately I had to lower my goal because school got so crazy busy that I couldn’t keep up…but I read 40, which is double what I read in 2020 so I’ll take it as a win. Next year I will try, again, for 50. Until then, I’ll be basking in the glory of 40 whole books!
Another update: my MacBook stopped charging suddenly…I just home from Apple and I am happy to annouce, it’s not the computer LOL. Unfortuantely, the charging block broke somehow. Now, I’ve been ordered a replacement (thank you AppleCare) and I purchased a second charger in the meantime…little did I know the second “charger” was ONLY the block. Thank GOD I had ordered a secondary cable on Amazon thinking it was that, not the block. Now I’ll need to buy a new CABLE as well once my replacement block is provided since that ALSO is not working (insert eye roll emojii here). Honestly, that’s all trivial compared to the alternative: the MacBook itself having an issue. It’s a Christmas miracle.
I took my last “vacation” day of the year today since I had to go to my last “follow-up” for my ankle and a last minute, but very important, dermatologist appointment to deal with the rashes I keep getting on my face. It’s sad to think that I won’t have another day off until 2022, but at the same time I’m excited to finish off the year strong. Work has been busy, but as usual I love it.
Our grades also came out today and I officially passed my first full semester of grad school (part two). I finished with a 3.42 GPA which did not come without several panic attacks and tears, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. One down, two (full) semesters to go! By this time next year, I’ll have graduated and completed my second Master’s program. Who would have thought! I’m still so proud of myself, totally 10000% tooting my own horn and I don’t care.
Can you believe Christmas is only five days away? I’ve been done shopping for a few weeks and I had everything wrapped last weekend so it should be a chill week (after work that is). I can’t wait to be able to sleep in on Saturday morning since my parents will be traveling so I don’t have to go to their house for Christmas morning. My older sister isn’t excited, but I sure as hell am. I mean, this time of the year is hard for me and I always have to fake it…this year, I’ll be able to vegetate and do nothing juse how I like it! I really am way too excited about this.
OK, I am done rambling for now…talk soon!
