Empower Your Style: The Meaning Behind Little Words Project Bracelets
Have you ever heard of a brand called the Little Words Project? If you love accessories, the way I do, you probably have heard of them. You’ve also probably seen the brand all over Instagram and TikTok lately, but if you haven’t. Don’t worry! I’m here to introduce you to this amazing brand.
Discover the Magic of Little Words: Introducing My Favorite Self-Expression Accessory Brand
In a world filled with grand gestures and complex messages, sometimes the most profound impact comes from the simplest of things. That’s the essence behind the “Little Words Project” bracelets.
Little Words who?
Little Words Project™ was created to inspire and encourage people to be kind to themselves and to pay that kindness forward (one bracelet at a time), by Adriana Carrig. Adriana used to make bracelets, while in college, for herself and her sorority sisters as a way to overcome the bullying and difficult times they experienced.
On their website, Adriana is quoted as saying that “the wearable affirmations reminded us of our worth, and got us through the tough times together.” Millions of bracelets later, Little Words Project was born and the brand has grown, beyond being about jewelry, into this amazing community.
Adriana also has a book coming out, on September 17th, called “The Power of Little Words” where she touches on the many ways that people can be kinder to themselves and how to pay that kindness forward in their lives. I will most definitely be buying this book.
Me & LWP
In my eyes, the Little Words Project is more than a jewelry brand. They are a lifestyle brand who was created with the goal of empowering their customers or the wearer of their bracelets to embody the word they are wearing and then to take that and pass it forward. You become the words you wear and then you encourage others to become them as well.
That mission is something unique to the brand. It made me think twice about how I wear my bracelet stacks from LWP. As I mentioned, you are meant to wear and embody the word on your bracelet and then you are to act in a way that passes that word on to those around you. Each bracelet also contains a unique tag that allows you to connect with the LWP community.
How to wear the bracelets
I may have confused you, so let me help break it down a little better. Let’s take one of the bracelets in my stack as an example.
One of my new bracelets says “HOPE”. The way that it works, according to LWP, is that when I wear that bracelet, I act in a way that embodies HOPE and then I act towards others with HOPE. So, not only do I have to have HOPE in my day-to-day life, but I also need to pass the feeling of hope on to others.
This same framework applies to my other bracelets, like my “BADASS” bracelet. When I wear my badass bracelet, I am to own my badassness in my day-to-day life and I’m also to encourage others to be their own version of a badass.
I also briefly mentioned that the bracelets contain a unique tag on them. Each bracelet, and pouch that comes with the bracelet, have a code that allows you to link the bracelet with your account. When you connect your bracelet, you get the opportunity to connect with the greater LWP community on their private Facebook page. This allows you to have a safe space to connect with others who believe in the same values that the Little Words Project brand lives by.
My LWP collection
As you’ve probably noticed on my Instagram and TikTok, I am obviously a huge fan of this brand and have a large quantity of their bracelets. My current arm stack contains 11 of their bracelets (10 words/phrases and one from their Little Layers line).
I also have a pending order with four more bracelets (one customized, one zodiac, one from the influencer collab and one from stand up to cancer) that is still being processed. I’ll tell you right now, I will probably buy more when I go to their pop up at Disney Springs this weekend (or in September when I go up for the Halloween party).
Obviously, similarly to my obsession with Stoney Clover Lane, I am hooked on and don’t see myself stopping anytime soon.
Let’s break down my current LWP stack:
- Little Layers, 14K gold vermeil, “Hearts By The Yard” bracelet
- March of Dimes “Strong Mom” bracelet
The ‘Strong Mom’ bracelet is meant to speak to the incredible strength and courage that is within every mom. These words are at the heart of March of Dimes’ mission to lead the fight for the health of all moms and babies. 25% of the proceeds go to the March of Dimes, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting for the heath of all moms and babies, aiming to end preventable risks, deaths, and close the health equity gap.
- Law & Order: SVU “WWOBD” bracelet (this stands for What Would Olivia Benson Do)
- Law & Order SVU “Dun Dun” bracelet
- Law & Order SVU “Elite Squad” bracelet
The real-life Olivia Benson, Mariska Hargitay, teamed up with Little Words Project to create exclusive bracelets celebrating the Law & Order: SVU’s 25th anniversary. During the “SVU25” fan event that took place at Rockefeller Center on March 14 and 15, fans and people alike were able to purchase the Law & Order: SVU bracelets from Little Words Project. 25% of the proceeds benefited “The Joyful Heart Foundation”, founded by Law & Order: SVU actor, director, producer, and advocate Mariska Hargitay. The Joyful Heart Foundation has been a leading national organization with a mission to transform society’s response to sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse, support survivors’ healing, and end this violence forever. These bracelets have since sold out, both online and in person.
- Emily in Paris x LWP “Merde” bracelet
- “Grateful” bracelet
- “Hope” bracelet
- Collegiate “Gators” bracelet
- “In my Era” bracelet
- “Bad Ass” bracelet
The bracelets that are in my pending order include the “Believe You Can” bracelet from the Kindfluencer by @anastasia_k_p drop, the “Don’t Give Up” bracelet benefiting Cancer Research and the V Foundation, as well as a custom bracelet that says Enzo (and includes a charm for his birthstone) and the “Scorpio” bracelet from the Zodiac line.
Those are all the bracelets I currently have, and am waiting for, but I know I’ll be getting more (sooner, rather than later). SO STAY TUNED!
Don’t forget my code!
