Currently…

I fell asleep relatively early so I woke up at the ass crack of dawn, freezing of all things. I’m currently wrapped in my first Project Repat blankets, made from my RunDIsney race shirts. I say my “first” because yesterday I shipped 16 new shirts to them to make a second blanket! I am also wearing my favorite (or second favorite, since they’re my second pair) of SKIMS pajamas. If you follow my Instagram, you know damn well, I love these SKIMS pajamas so much I got myself a second pair when I came back from New York.

This weekend has been pretty chill considering it’s the week before Christmas. My gifts are done, wrapped, and under the tree. I even cleaned out the bins in my closet and the shirts in my closet, donating two extra-large trash bags of stuff. I need to do my dresses and my shoes next. Maybe I’ll work on that today. I also need to go through my jeans and donate the ones I don’t gravitate towards since I have too many pairs at this time and they don’t fit in my drawers!

I need to read five books by the 31st to hit my revised reading goal of 45 books. School kicked my ass this semester and it totally knocked me off my reading challenge, but still, considering I’ve read 39 books right now I think it was a pretty successful year of reading! Let’s see if I knock this challenge on it’s ass though.

While I was cleaning out the closet, I decided to go through the books I’ve read and take out some to send to my best friend, and some to donate to the local library. As much as I would like to hoard more books, I don’t have space. Especially since I brought home four new coffee table books from New York. Man I would love to find a used bookstore in Miami the way I did in Brooklyn. As a kid, there was a used bookstore by the Blockbuster so on the weekend when we’d go rent a movie I’d go in and find used books I wanted to read to buy too! Those were the good old days.

I have a few packages coming this week, unrelated to Christmas, that I am very excited about and then one that’s a Christmas gift for my best friend. I mailed the first couple things I bought her, yesterday, so it will get to her before Christmas but unfortunately this one is going to arrive after Christmas so I’ll have to mail it late. There’s another item missing, somewhere in this mess, that I need to send her. I put it aside (one for her, one for me) and now I can’t find either of them *insert face palm to the face here*.

I can’t remember if I talked about this before, but around my birthday I threw out my old white comforter and a few pillows and bought a new comforter from Target plus some new Casper pillows. I’ve officially fallen in love, with my comforter AND pillows. I most definitely recommend the Casper pillows, I will say though out of the two I bought (The Casper Essential Pillow and The Casper Essential Cooling Pillow) the cooling pillow wins hands down. I absolutely LOVE it and I am plotting my way to buying another one. The essential is good too, don’t get me wrong, but I get hot flashes at night and the cooling pillow is perfect for that. The comforter I bought though isn’t Casper, it’s called the Mid Weight Premium Down Alternative Hypoallergenic Machine Washable Comforter – Casaluna™. I’m really happy with the “upgrades”, and actually when I got back from New York I had to buy new sheets because I accidentally snapped mine when I was putting them back on my bed after the wash. Oops. It’s to say my entire bed spread got a facelift, one I am very happy with.

This week is going to be a hectic one. Between work, Christmas, and now the ever-dreaded year-end (at least at my job) I’ll be nonstop for the next few weeks. Once 2022 rolls around, I go from working straight into a half marathon (which I am very nervous about since my pace was horrendous on my first training day back). Let’s see how this all pans out! But until then, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (just in case I don’t get around to saying it before)!
