Currently…

Personally, I think that last week’s installment of the “Currently” series was seriously lacking – probably because I wasn’t into it. Between work and things going on at home,, my heart wasn’t into it. Hopefully that changes with this post, especially because I wrote it out in anticipation of posting it today.

So to start off, I am ”still” currently…

WATCHING

  • The original Charmed series; I always feel like I need to clarify which “version” of the show I am watching because now that there is a “reboot” people don’t realize the difference between the two shows. I will be done with the series by the end of the day, and then I may jump into Law & Order SVU from scratch to see if I can catchup in time for the fall premiere of season 22!

READING

  • I am also, still, stuck reading The Jetsetter’s. I don’t know what the hell is going on with me, but I can’t seem to focus enough to finish reading this freaking book. I am totally, a teeny tiny bit, more than half way through the book; I also bought three more books from Target, which now has bumped the stack of eight books next to my bed to 11 books. My goal is to force myself to finish this damn book this weekend, however I’m now not so sure I want to read A Woman is No Man next; Just feel like I need to read a different kind of book that hopefully will trigger the “binge read” trait in me. Is there anyone else experiencing this “reading rut” because of quarantine? Please tell me yes.

FINISHING

  • I just finished, in its entirety, the Liquid Glass DryBar Shampoo & Conditioner. I am absolutely going to repurchase it, but I’m hoping they come out with the 33.8 oz version because I really do love the product and it can get a bit pricey refilling! People always compliment my hair after I’ve washed it with the Liquid Glass shampoo and conditioner and blown it out; it just has this shine and bounce.

WAITING FOR

  • My “foldable” desk for the extended (again) WFH. To be 100% honest: I really should have bought a desk four months ago when this entire COVID was starting, but I am (extremely) stubborn and insisted on using a shelving unit I bought at HomeGoods on my last outing pre-COVID as a makeshift “standup” desk. It actually works great presentation-wise and it holds everything work related really nicely without looking too cluttered, but it’s not realistic because my back is always killing me and I never want to stand the entire day! So I discovered that Amazon sells desks, similar to a portable TV table, that are foldable. By foldable, I mean, you can literally close up shop and put it away behind furniture or in the closet when you’re done! I really love this concept and I can’t wait for it to arrive. I hope it’s as nice as it looks.
  • My fifteenth SheIn Order – If you follow me on social media, you probably know that I absolutely LOVE shopping at SheIn. Not only is it extremely affordable, but they have a huge variety of products to buy: from accessories (hair, jewelry, & fashion) to swimsuits, shoes, clothes, and home goods. There is honestly so many options that my wishlist grows and grows each time I go on their website! This current order (I had to go back and check, it’s actually the seventh order placed since quarantine started) consists of hair accessories, body suits, a dress, and belt. I really am addicted to shopping on their site.
  • I accidentally broke the ring holder I had on my nightstand for the last, probably, six years. It was the cutest ceramic elephant where the trunk would hold your rings and the plate at the base would hold bracelets or loose jewelry pieces (like my earrings). Although I have a glass case on the nightstand, I really don’t like to just throw my rings in it – I rather use it for my bracelets, earrings, and even any necklaces currently in my rotation. Having broken mine meant I needed to buy something to use in its place so, of course, I turned to Amazon. OMG I can’t even begin to explain… I legit found the CUTEST one and it actually ended up being nicer than the original one. It’s a cactus, and a cactus has more than one “arm”? This means that I have three “arms” to use for my rings, bracelets, etc., plus the plate at the base of the holder. I currently have one arm loaded with my current ring rotation, a second one holding my current personalized bracelets rotation, and I still have one left standing for whatever I decide to throw on there next!
  • Coco & Eve: OKAY. Let me start with a disclaimer: INSTAGRAM SERIOUSLY NEEDS TO STOP WITH THE ADS. Why? Well because my instagram clearly knows that I am seriously into haircare and I kept seeing this brand’s hair mask pop up. I finally caved and bought a bundle of hair mask, microfiber towel, and I think it brings something else (can’t remember). I’m actually excited to see what the hype is all about.
  • Ring Concierge. I follow a few bloggers who purchase from Ring Concierge frequently and I finally caved (also inspired by Instagram ads). I bought a white gold ring to add to my ring stack. If you sense a theme here, you are correct: I love jewelry; my vice seems to be David Yurman bracelets, rings that I can stack, and recently personalized, beaded, bracelets.
  • Sephora. I have had my Sephora basket full of shit for like three weeks. I swear. The thing is that I’ve ordered so many other things that I didn’t want to buy the same type of product again “por gusto” like we say in Spanish. I finally caved and ordered the things I’ve gone back and forth about, removing a few things that honestly made no sense in buying right now because of other products I’ve bought.

BUYING

  • Good Swim & Kylie Cosmetics Kendall Collection. So, I wouldn’t necessarily say that I am a fan of the Kardashian/Jenner’s; I do follow Kim, Khloe, Kylie, and Kendall (NOT Kourtney). If there is a story about them online and the headline intrigues me I will skim through the article but I don’t really do much more than that._However_those women really know how to capture people’s interest and produce quality products to sell. Ironically, I actually thought that my purchases started with_Kylie Cosmetics_that is absolutely FALSE. My first purchase was the Kim Kardashian fragrance circa 2009. That was around the time they had DASH, their former clothing store, and I would peruse down there whenever I was in the area (which was very infrequent). For years after that I really didn’t buy products they promoted, until _Kylie Cosmetics _in 2015. I started with a few Lip Kits, then gloss, then “high” gloss and so forth. When it comes to Kylie’s products, I only buy lip related items because I am not into the other options she sells (if I don’t wear eye shadow, why bother right). On Friday, Kylie is releasing her first collection with Kendall (literally the only sibling left to collar with, she even did a collab with her BROTHER before Kendall). Anyway, if there is one of the siblings I actually like, it’s Kendall. Her style is very simple and usually I gravitate to her outfits for inspiration on Pinterest. I will be attempting to buy the lip blush, the everywhere gloss, and the high gloss. I also think I will venture into the blush/bronzer world and get the cream stick. There is a first time for everything.
  • Khloe started Good American a few years after Kylie Cosmetics and I have repeatedly posted about their jeans and activewear, I am 100% HOOKED. I absolutely LOVE her jeans. Like I currently own four pairs and that’s because I accidentally ripped another pair straight across my ass. Today, she introduced a swimwear line and I jumped on that ship instantly. I ordered a reversible triangle top and the good waist bottom (I try to gravitate always to the same “style” that my jeans are).

TESTING

  • I’m using one at this exact moment to write this post — it’s called Ulysses. Today, when googling different apps used by Bloggers, on MacOS, that increased productivity — Ulysses was one of the highest rated and consistently recommended app to use for writing purposes. I originally thought it was free, but after more researching I found that it is worth the $6 a month (especially if it is going to keep me organized and focused).
  • Another app I downloaded is Bear; it’s a popular app that is used for crafting notes on MacOS and across Apple devices. So far I like its flexibility, stay tuned to see if I end up keeping it. I read that people preferred it to Microsoft OneNote which I use for work. I’m honestly not very passionate about OneNote which is probably why I didn’t care to download it, and I didn’t want to download one Microsoft application and not have any of the other typical ones. I’m one of the weirdos who prefers Apple/MacOS applications to Microsoft.
  • The third app I downloaded is_Photoscape X_which is afree, all-in-one, photo editing program which provides photo-related features such as: Photo Viewer, Editor, Cut Out, Batch, Collage, Combine, Create GIF, Color Picker, Screen Capture, RAW images, etc. I haven’t gone around to testing this one out, the way I have the first two, but I can’t wait to try it out.

BRAINSTORMING

  • I’ve been looking to create a vision board, but I always end up frustrated and not making it because I can’t decide between a physical vision board or a virtual one ala Pinterest. At this moment I have a virtual one but my issue with that is I will forget what the theme was and just start pinning things I think I want to focus on for whatever the vision board represents. I find this to be half-assed and pointless, but then when I try to bring some order into the process it never comes out right. I’m a little neurotic and this method just doesn’t cut it. So here I am looking for inspiration to help me decide on what the final vision board will be.
  • Away to fix my eyes! OK backstory for context: my eyes have been overly over-focusing which is causing my vision to get/become blurred. This has been happening for a little over a year already and I originally thought it was due to dry eyes or maybe lazy eye syndrome….it’s become the biggest pain in my neck. I called the eye doctor in desperation and I am waiting on him to call me back. I most likely will have to go in for a followup office visit because it truly is some weird shit – I can see GREAT with my glasses, both reading and distance, it’s just that while I am reading, texting, watching TV, working my eyes get stuck in a hyper focused state and everything blurs together!
  • My Pinterest has been flooded with organizational hacks, workspace decor inspiration, mental health tips and hacks, and DIY bracelet ideas. I had been feeling like my Pinterest was relatively boring and disorganized so about a week ago, I went into a deep dive reorganizing and restructuring my boards. This has given me some much needed inspiration that hopefully will translate into my Pinterest engagement and blogging.
