Currently…

I have OFFICIALLY completed my application for my second master’s program. I submitted my video to the advisor today after six hundred attempts. YOLO. I’m so tired of trying to be perfect; It’s impossible. I did my very best and I think that’s all that counts!

Today I was informed that I was accepted into the six month mentorship program at Telemundo. I’m so incredibly happy and excited. I applied last year and unfortunately wasn’t accepted, but you know what timing is everything. I was promoted at the end of last year, I was awarded my second GEM award, and I am more confident in my role. This year is going to be the year that changes everything. It’s already started to be that way, and we’re only four months into the year!

I finished two books last week, so I am back on track in my challenge. I read “In Five Years” and bawled my ass off. It was incredible. I finished the other book I had been reading for the book club, “The Likability Trap”. Now I’ve started reading the second book in the Brown Sisters series, “Take a Hint Dani Brown”. I am very serious about this physical > library > physical book plan. I want to be able to expand my reading options and using the Libby app helps me do that. Maybe I’ll try an audio book next so I can double up. I’ve heard that’s really helpful in achieving your reading goals.

We went to Orlando last weekend; Arrived Friday night and had dinner at Disney Springs. Saturday we spent the morning and early afternoon shopping at the Outlets, Saturday night we headed over to Epcot for the Flower and Garden festival. Of course, we didn’t have poncho’s so it started to rain and we had to buy the 200th poncho we own. I swear, if you take the poncho it doesn’t rain. You don’t take it, and it becomes like hurricane rain. Sunday we went to Disney Springs again and had an early lunch, did some quick shopping, and when the torrential rain started we headed home. It took us five whole hours to get back to Miami because of the rain, but once we were back I was ready to sleep into this weekend.

I want to say unfortunately to the fact that it’s been a crazy week at work, but to be honest even on a bad week – I love my job. It feels great to love my job as much as I do. When I was at Disney, I loved my job for years; but then I felt stuck and after trying to move up and essentially being rejected each time, I knew it was time to say goodbye. Had I stayed, I probably would hate Disney and never would want to go back. Luckily though, everything worked out and I still love going to Disney and being at Disney.

My goal for this weekend is honestly to relax as much as possible. I also went to the allergist this week and my doctor told me to try taking my Zyrtec half an hour before I attempt to drink Prosecco again to see if I break out in hives. So this weekend I am going to be my own guinea pig.
