Currently…
I am super late on this post, but this week was anything but normal. Sunday, Monday, & Tuesday I wasn’t feeling my best. I spent the entire, and I do mean ENTIRE, day on Sunday sleeping. I woke up at 8, then fell back asleep until 12, then back until 3 when I woke up, showered, at lunch, and then went back asleep until 8 when I got up, took some medicine, and back to bed I went until Monday morning.
Then Monday came and went, and I wasn’t at my best so I logged off work early; Tuesday morning I just wasn’t feeling it so for the second or third time this year, I took a sick day. I’m glad I did because I think I was just getting to the point where my body was burnout out from the grueling work schedule, my period (which decided to visit after over 180 days), and life in general. 2020 has been ROUGH. I am happy to report though that we are totally in the last 90 days of this piece of shit year and I can’t wait to move past it. 2021 is looking good. My car lease is up, I’m totally under miles for the first time in my entire driving career, and there is the possibility of returning to the office in 2021. Something to look forward to right?
Aside from not being at my best, both health and productivity wise, this week had some exciting things to look forward to:
1) I got my highlights done for the first time in 12 weeks; the boys, as we call them, were in Spain since right after my last visit so this one stretched out really long for me.
2) My Apple Watch Series 6 arrived!! I went back and forth for hours, days, and what felt like weeks since the announcement on which watch I was going to get. I ended up ordering it straight from Apple, which meant I paid “cash”, instead of doing monthly installments through AT&T like I typically do. After much back and forth about this decision, and what color or style I wanted, I placed the order. I’m so glad I did too. I ordered the Apple Watch Series 6 Nike+ (this is I think my THIRD – I’ve owned three in total BTW – Nike Edition). I have only had Space Gray and Rose Gold before, so getting the Silver for me was really exciting. It goes with so much more and I love to switch up my band so this gives me more room to play with different types bands and styles. At the end of the day, I’m glad I ordered it through Apple because now I can use that extra $20 or so to upgrade my iPhone when the 12 is announced! I really am such an Apple geek.
3) Several orders I placed also arrived: KKW Diamonds II (I bought all three), Sephora order, and some Amazon orders. From Sephora, I ordered the GrandeLASH Lash Enhancing Serum (which reminds me I need to get up and put it on before I forget) and I ordered the new Bite Beauty lip gloss. I am a huge fan of their lipsticks and glosses, the mauve colors seem to work best with my skin color and I’m a total fan of this new lip plumping gloss. I also bought, today in fact, at Ulta the Tarte Holiday Mascara bundle (3 full sized Tarte mascara’s). This gives me the opportunity to try their other mascaras; I gave my mom the one I’ve used before: Lights, Camera, Lashes™ 4-In-1 Mascara, and kept the other two: Man-eater and Big Ego.
Other than that, I’ve finally actually started reading The Wedding Date (four weeks later) – I’m telling you, this COVID shit is ruining my reading routine. I’ve also started to watch The Home Edit’s show on Netflix. I’ve been a fan of there’s for a while, so I was super excited when one morning I couldn’t sleep and stumbled upon the show on Netflix. I ordered their first book and it gets here on Wednesday; Once the second book hits the shelves I’ll buy that one too! The Father of the Bride cast and write/director did a mini reunion type show that went live yesterday so that too is on my list to watch! Although right now I am watching the Criminal Minds marathon on WETV and then I’ll probably turn on Fifty Shades Darker since it’s on E tonight (I really love those books and movies; I’ve seen then like 20 times and read the trilogy about 15 times).
Ahh, one thing I almost forgot! Coming off of my amazing mentoring meetings both with Aliza and Anddria, I ordered some books to help me get my shit together: Power Moves by the founder and CEO of Career Contessa, Lauren McGoodwin and F*ck No! How to stop saying yes when you can’t, you shouldn’t, or you just don’t want to by Sarah Knight. I’m excited to dive in and keep this professional development situation going! Next Saturday (the 3rd) is the second Every Girl Rise conference, which I am very excited about. There are two new panels and the panelists look so interesting! I can’t wait to attend again!
