First, I’m going to start by tooting my own horn – I successuflly finished two books in one week! Aren’t you proud? I totally am. I haven’t been this captivated by books in what feels like TOO long. This entire COVID situation and quarantine, and stay at home order, blah blah blah, has been too much. It has sucked the creativity and fulfilment that reading usually gives me right out of me! But I am BACK!

First, let’s start with One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London. I am SO not a fan of the Bachelor and that entire franchise, not one bit, but I could become one after reading this book that features a storyline similar to the plot of that franchise, but with a plus sized blogger. It was amazing, emotional, and real. I loved it so much, and I highly recommend it.

Next up was, the just released, sequel of the American Royals, Majesty. I loved the first book, and I honeslty can’t decide if I love the second more. It was SO good; not what I expected in all the best ways. The outcome is something I would have wanted, if I myself, was in that situation but I honestly did not expect it to end that way! There was just something so unrealistic about the idea I had in my head, and how it would make sense in the story, but Katharine McGee found a way. I will tell you, I would be extremly disappointed if another book and/or spinoff wasn’t born from this book. I just can’t get enough!

I am currently trying to figure out which of the other 18 books I have scattered around my room will be my next book. I am currently between two possibles: Sex and Vanity, by Kevin Kwan, and The Wedding Date (which is a series), by Jasmine Guillory. I loved the last series Kevin Kwan wrote, which later turned into a movie, Crazy Rich Asians. I bought three of the, I believe there are four, books in the series The Wedding Date – of course going on the hunch that I’m going to like it based on the reviews it’s received. TBD on which I expect, but since it is a long weekend I’m looking forward to possibly reading both!

On another note, it’s a long weekend! Labor Day weekend has come upon us; the end of the summer season (at least everywhere but Florida). For the first time, since Feburary, I am headed back to my former hometown of Orlando, FL! I have been counting down the days for the last three weeks! I can’t wait. I did, cautiously, make reservations to head to Universal Studios and Disney World…but I haven’t decided whether I’ll actually go, or if I’ll just stay by the hotel pool and relax with my friends; possibly head to dinner at City Walk and Disney Springs…We shall see how I feel!

Of course, my entire weekend depends on the COVID situation. Since it is still very much a threat to our health, I have to be extremly cautious in everything I do and the exposure I bring upon myself. That’s why I made the reservations for the days at the parks, but I haven’t decided whether or not I’ll actually go. Although, I have asked multiple friends who have gone how they felt and they’ve all told me that they felt safe; some friends even took their three small children. So I guess I’ll take that as a good sign, but again, we shall see what happens!

Stay tuned because I will most definitely write a post on my experience once I’ve experienced it!
