Currently…

I have said it before, and I will say it again: I HATE WORKING FROM HOME! That being said, I am going to explain my current frustration with working from home: my Internet connection! It’s one thing to lose internet because of bad weather, but lately it’s been everyday all day long no internet and worse – NO TV. It drives me absolutely insane. I miss my office so much; the consistency of driving to work, socializing with coworkers and friends, visiting talent and sets, everything. I miss it all. I always knew I was going to hate this WFH situation, I just don’t think I realized how much I would hate it.

I laugh thinking about it because I’ve always said that had I won the lotto, I wouldn’t quit my job and everyone tells me I’m crazy and that it wouldn’t be true; except, if you really think about it: having to be HOME all the time drives me insane, how could I do it as a millionaire? I couldn’t I’m too much of person who needs routine and consistency. I believe I would go insane if you put me on an island and asked me to disconnect from the world.

I don’t have much to write about this week for the currently series since I did post it a little late last week, but I do currently have several purchases making their way to my house…I always love to talk about my shopping addiction, so here we go:

First and foremost, there is a Sephora sale currently going on and it happened to coincide with the launch of two new products I’ve been dying to try. Technically speaking, the first isn’t a new product but rather a new brand being sold at Sephora. The second item is definitely just launched item. Since, as I mentioned, Sephora has the sale going on I ordered the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil and the new dae Prickly Pear Hair Oil. Super excited about this order; I’ve been dying to try the Gisou and I absolutely love what dae is selling. I’ve mentioned before how much of a fan I am of their shampoo/conditioner/deep conditioning treatment.

Next, is Amazon. I’m pretty sure the Amazon Prime delivery guy thinks we’re either crazy and insanely loaded because we get packages every single day from Amazon. For this order. It’s rather small and to the point. I ordered some more bags to personalize for Le Petite Paquet to sell, I also ordered a new notebook that I want to customize also to advertise on Le Petite Paquet, and some post it notes with tabs so I know where in my notebook I added the post it note with my notes (that’s a tongue twister right there).

Being super into tie dye lately, I jumped the gun and bought (without any hesitation – this should be concerning) a Rolling Stones Tie-Dye Crew Neck Sweatshirt from Urban Outfitters. I am a huge crew neck sweatshirt fan; and since the tie dying attempts I’ve done didn’t come out how I pictured them (even though I really do love the outcome) I wanted this one to be perfect. So I paid for it LOL; Ironically, I tease my sister for wanting to do this and I end up doing it myself; totally hypocritical of me.

Still on my skincare binge, I ordered the new Kylie Skin Clarifying products (it comes in a bundle or individual items; I did not get the one with the brush). The set comes with a detox mask, clarifying facial oil, and a complexion correction stick. I’m running out of space in my skincare fridge, but I am so excited to try these products. I am a fan of her skincare line; I use her moisturizer daily and alternate with the Marc Jacobs Beauty gel moisturizer.

The other day I ordered a new Gator Yeti from the UF bookstore; It arrives today so I’m really excited! I totally don’t need any more Yeti’s but I honestly could not resist. This one is a 30 oz though, which are becoming my favorite size lately and it’s a royal blue color instead of a baby blue color.

One of the bloggers I follow linked the cutest pearl mask on her IG and I ordered it instantly. My little sister and aunt say that masks aren’t an accessory, but that’s not true anymore. From the looks of it, we’re going to be wearing masks for the next six months (at least) so I needed to get a “fancy” version. I already have a baby blue, navy, and pink gingham (total of 3), a FL gator and a Mickey one all from my best friends kid’s store. Then I bought a Kitsch mask set which are slightly thicker, but cute in design (they’re neutral and have a tie dye effect), and I have one from Etsy that is Bugs Bunny and says, “What’s Up Doc?”. I constantly rotate them since you do have to keep them clean, and I have spares in about every bag just in case.

I have two orders from SheIn coming; one that will be for the stuff sold in the packages from Le Petite Paquet, and the other of three more pairs of shoes (because I honestly can’t get enough!). So far every pair I’ve ordered have hit the nail in the head, and for the price it’s hard to even think NOT to buy them! I’ll definitely do a post solely on my SheIn purchases for you guys because I really am obsessed.

I did just receive my Target order, which was the Megababe brand’s hand sanitizer; I am a HUGE fan of their deodorant and I was dying to try this hand sanitizer. I am 100% obsessed with the Herbivore ones I ordered, they’re super moisturizing but they’re more for on-the-go. The Megababe version is a good one to have at home or on my desk.

I was starting to think about purging my closet a bit and getting rid of clothes I don’t wear, or clothes that doesn’t fit anymore but I’m afraid of doing this because the clothes I’m not wearing are what I would need to wear if we went back to the office! I am living in jean shorts, sweat pants, two piece lounge sets, and t-shirt dresses lately; but I definitely couldn’t get rid of my jeans (I definitely still wear these, at least once a week) or slacks, because eventually I’ll have to make it back to looking professional…right?

Now, my pajama drawer and the t-shirt drawers are a totally different situation. I am going to mega purge those; especially because I keep buying more and more pajamas! My aunt likes to tease that she has a morning pajama, a zoom pajama, and a night pajama and lately I feel like that’s becoming more and more true! In my case, I actually change out of my pajama into either a sweat set, shorts and a t-shirt, a two piece lounge set, or even a little t-shirt dress _every single day_so my laundry looks pretty normal. It hasn’t slowed down the way everyone else’s have. I could potentially purge some of my hair products (i.e., headbands, scrunchies, and hair ties), maybe even some hair care products that I don’t use. My gym bag is full of crap I haven’t used in 6 months so that’s something else to consider.

Oh! How could I forget, I am currently trying out OBE Fitness! Well, I signed up. I took one class that was really challenging and then I’ve overslept every day since so I’m going to start fresh on Sunday, with my diet, and really get myself into a routine again. I need to lose the 8 pounds I gained again, and the last 25 I needed to begin with. No more excuses. At least that’s what I keep telling myself.

My reading list on Safari is extremely long at the moment. I keep finding articles I want to read, and I save them for a later date and then I never get to them because something distracts me. Right now, I’ve flooded my reading list with tips and tricks like how to go to sleep earlier, COVID and anxiety, skincare suggestions, confidence boosters, and different things to help grow my blog. I hope to binge the articles this weekend so I can clean it out and start practicing what I read/preach. Which reminds me, I still haven’t been able to finish reading the last book I started at the beach; this is an example of one of the articles I have bookmarked on my reading list to read — how to fall back in love with reading during the pandemic! I’ve had such a hard time reading during this time that its really driving me crazy! I am not only behind on the number of books I wanted to read this year, but I am also stuck rereading the same page over and over until I finish or my focus comes back into play.

Have any of you experienced more anxiety or a shift in your attention span because of the pandemic? If so, how have you coped?
