More Interesting Facts

This blog challenge prompt was a little harder for me than I anticipated…I’m actually not that interesting, but here goes nothing!

  1. I have two sisters and what I call a “half-brother once removed” (I admit, I totally made that up HOWEVER it is actually totally true). You see, this “half-brother” actually belongs to my older sister on her mom’s side. She’s my half-sister through my dad, and ironically her mom had a son my same age who I essentially grew up with. He was the brother I never knew I wanted, and yet, he was always there for me. Still is! He even married my best friend, who I’ve been friends with since we were like two years old.
  2. Speaking of best friends since I was two, I have a group of friends that I’ve been best friends with since I was either three years old (pre-k era) or freshman in high school, and one friend since middle school. I’ve literally known all my group of friends my whole or half life.
  3. I was involved in a car wreck the day I passed my driver’s test, however I was not driving! I was actually knocked out cold turkey in the back seat, and my cousin was driving with my best friend in the front seat. The cars that crashed into us were drag racing, and it was a multiple car accident…one of which caused our car to actually flip.
  4. I have five tattoos, one of which I got when I was 17 in Spain for a study abroad program the summer before my senior year of high school.
  5. Next, more obvious fact after the above mentioned one, I studied in Spain for six weeks the summer going into my senior year in high school with my best friends.
  6. I have an oddly insane obsession with headbands and scrunchies; I proudly own over 25 headbands and I’m not even going to start counting the scrunchies. BTW this doesn’t stop me from ordering more. I told you, it’s an obsession.
  7. I have seen, and read, the fifty shades of grey movies/books more than ten times each. Unfortunately this is 100% true, and I still read/watch them all the time when I feel like I need a pick me up. I actually read an interesting meme today that explained people with anxiety tend to revert to old TV shows/movies they have seen since they know what is going to happen and can anticipate what is coming next…I can’t even begin to tell you how much sense this makes.
  8. When I was on my medical leave/maternity leave after I lost Enzo, I watched the Sex and the City movie every single night for an entire month (possibly more) and I still turn it on all the time while enjoying every bit all over again like I’ve never seen it before.
  9. I have seen every episode of Friends, Sex and the City, Law & Order (the Original), Criminal Minds, Charmed, One Tree Hill, and Gilmore Girls more than once…these are what I call my pick me up shows! Funny part is that I watch them totally pissing myself as if I’ve never seen them before.
  10. One of my college essays was published when I was a sophomore. I wish I could have found it, but it’s been so long I can’t even remember where I put the original essay. I still have my college application essay though; I’m oddly fond of it.
  11. My paternal grandmother was blind and I have her same eye condition, but thankfully I have a less aggressive strand that could potentially never take my vision from me, My dad on the other hand…will eventually lose his. He already is partially blind, since the disease eats at your peripheral vision first.
  12. I live with my aunt; whom I have lived with since I was 18. With the exception of course, of when I lived in Orlando.
  13. Brings me to my next “interesting fact” – I worked for Disney World for six and a half years.
  14. While at Disney World, I drove the steam trains which are indeed STEAM trains run on water, diesel, and fire. Hardest, and yet most fulfilling, job I’ve ever had.
  15. I also drove the “vintage” vehicles on Main Street such as the double decker bus (hardest freaking thing to learn to drive EVER – try parallel parking a double decker bus!), the fire truck, and the old school Cruella de Vil style car.

For those of you that do not believe I drove a steam train, here is proof:
