My 2022 Self-Discovery Series: Journal No. 1
As I mentioned before, I will be doing something new this year. Rather than continue with the “Currently” series, I wanted to do a journal prompt challenge that will force me to really consider what is being asked and bring new content to the site.
The first prompt is, “what is something that has been on my mind a lot lately?”
This prompt is two-folds, in my opinion, first and foremost what has been on my mind is school. We’re half way through the first half of the Spring mini-session and my plate has been crazy full. Between work and school, there have been moments of severe panic about whether or not I will be able to handle this load and the amount of responsibilities tied to it. Another thing on my mind is my anxiety, which lately has been at an all time high. Of course, both being tied together with a common demonator (I.e. school), it’s been hard not to connect the dots.
However, I did make moves to get the help I need for the anxiety last week. After three years of looking for someone I felt comfortable sharing my worries with, I found a therapist who a) is covered by my insurance b) is available around MY schedule and c) I truly connected with. This is HUGE for me. I have always been a fan of therapy, I just always feel so much better after. Having now found someone I like and want to continue to see is refreshing and hopefully it’ll help me with both my anxiety and worries about school.
I’m excited that I was able to close out the month of January with this revelation because it gives me hope for the next few months. I might just make it out alive (insert smilely face emoji here).
Better yet, it gets one of my 2022 goals checked off!
