2021 is Here, Happy New Year!
Well, well, well! The time has finally come for us to walk away from 2020 and all of it’s weirdness. Honestly, I can’t say 2020 was all that bad. It had it’s perks. I mean think about it…. I was promoted, I won my second performance award at work, and I got my new car. With all the bad, some good still managed to peak through the dark clouds.
I am so, SO, ready for 2021. So far, four days in, it’s going well. Although we are still not back at work and things are still relatively dangerous with the pandemic and all, the future looks bright. TWO vaccines have been approved and we are entering a new era with the Biden-Harris administration. The dark days will soon, hopefully, be over.
Last week I skipped the “Currently” post because I had nothing new to share, but I will restart the series this week. I am almost, entirely, done with One Tree Hill for the seventeenth time and I will be binging Mandalorian, and some Fresh Prince of Bel Air once I finish. I also am half way through the book I’ve been reading, so I am going to attempt to finish and read at least three books in January. I’ve got three weeks to do so!
I like to start the new year with a closet dump, so on Saturday I did just that. I cleaned out my drawers and closet on the bedroom side and I reorganized my work space, even pushing it closer to the window to give me more light and more walking space. I was starting to crash into my bed too much and it irritated me.
Speaking of my bed, I got a new mattress for Christmas and good God it is heavenly. I have actually been sleeping through the night for a change! Who knew that all it took was a new mattress for me to start sleeping again, but I am so very glad I did.
On another note, I kick started my diet again today. The last month and a half was a joke and I need to take it seriously. No more cheating, no more ice cream binges, and definitely no more junk food stored in my desk. I have to get back in shape, and I want to start rollerblading now that I got a pair for Christmas. Just need to buy some knee pads first. Can’t be too cautious, especially with my luck.
I am excited that we’re in 2021. I’m not going to say it’s going to be my year, I’ve seen enough memes to not want to jinx it, but I am excited to see what this new year brings. Happy 2021!
