100 Dias.
What would you do if you had 100 Days? If you were married for many years, had kids, family, great job, nice house – you had it all…but deep down, you wanted to see what else was out there in the world outside of your “perfect” marriage and family? What if you could take 100 days to find out if you really wanted to get divorced and start over, or see if where you want to be is with your significant other? Would you take it?
That is the story of the new novela from Telemundo, 100 Días para Enamorarnos.
Let me start in the beginning. If you know me personally, or have read my about me, you know that I work for Telemundo on their production finance department doing payroll. I started in the Entertainment business when I was at Disney, but instead of production I did Parks & Resorts. However, when I moved back to Miami to work for NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises I was exposed to a whole other world in the Entertainment business and I can honestly tell you – I never want to leave.
I absolutely love being able to work with people who bring the most creative stories to life, both artistically and professionally whether it’s a writer, a cameraman, a producer, wardrobe assistant, etc. Just being around all these creative souls is inspiring. It makes even the longest of days worth it. Anyway, back to the good stuff!
My first production started about a year and a half ago, and wrapped about 9 1/2 months ago (almost exactly). That lovely production was Betty en New York, a modern day spin on the classic Betty la Fea/Ugly Betty story…except what I loved about that story was that it wasn’t about Betty becoming beautiful or the materialistic aspects of the original stories/translations…Telemundo’s Betty en New York was about Betty, in the 21st century – surrounded by technology, fashion, and social media – learning to love herself and her own inner beauty. It was a story not only worth telling but worth watching. I loved it.
But this year, this year is something different. I shouldn’t say this year since we started production 6 months ago, but the second real big novela that I had the awesome opportunity to be involved with was 100 Dias, which Telemundo just dropped the first trailer for and announced that it’ll air in April! YAY! I think I’m most excited for this story because of how relatable it is. You don’t have to be married for 40 years and have kids to relate to the story. It connects to everyone in different ways, couples going through rough patches, families going through life together, kids learning and thriving in their own right, etc. It’s something everyone, at one level, can relate to. Even if it is about two couples who take 100 days to figure out whether they want to stay married or divorce.
Here is the official trailer, let me know what you think. Is this a story you think you can relate to? Or do you know someone who would?
Coming soon, only on Telemundo!
